Houston region’s first arts forum is a sector-wide celebration
Houston arts leaders, creators, and advocates gathered at the Hobby Center earlier this month for the first Greater Houston Arts Forum, hosted by HouArts(opens in new window), Houston Arts Alliance(opens in new window), and The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts(opens in new window). In recognition of National Arts and Humanities Month, the daylong event celebrated the arts sector and explored the future of Houston’s creative ecosystem.
Through panels and interactive sessions, participants learned how data and advocacy can elevate public support for the arts, how artists are shaping vibrant public spaces, and how Houston’s creative economy is a vital engine for innovation and job growth. Attendees also explored strategies for storytelling and civic engagement, with a clear call to action: Collaboration is key to ensuring the arts remain central to a thriving Houston.
Houston Endowment President and CEO Ann B. Stern recognized the power of coming together during the closing reception: “Today is such a great milestone. The very fact that we are gathered here today, across disciplines, across geographies, across organizations, is proof of this sector’s strength and vitality.”
