“Strategies for Flood Mitigation in Greater Houston, Edition 1”(opens in new window), a report released by the Greater Houston Flood Mitigation Consortium(opens in new window), calls for accelerating the paradigm shift underway in how the Houston area plans for and recovers from flooding and its consequences.

Houston Endowment led the creation of the Consortium to make sure that all communities benefit from flood mitigation efforts. The Kinder Foundation and the Cynthia & George Mitchell Foundation were co-funders, and additional support came from the Walton Family Foundation, Cullen Foundation and Harte Charitable Foundation.
