Amy Gibbs supports our strategy to support and grow Houston’s arts, culture, and parks ecosystem. She is a firm believer in the transformative power of the arts and has forged a career dedicated to organizations affecting positive change in their communities.
Prior to joining Houston Endowment, Gibbs served as Managing Director of ROCO where she oversaw a $2 million budget and lead an administrative team of nine. She gained previous experience as the Capacity Building Manager at Houston Arts Alliance (HAA), AMS Planning & Research, and SMU DataArts. She is an educator and mentor who served as a guest speaker for classes within the University of Houston's Arts Leadership graduate program and the University of Houston Downtown's undergraduate Non-profit Management program and as an adjunct professor in Drexel University's Arts Administration graduate program.
Gibbs is a founding board member of Houston Center for Musical Arts. She has served on the board of directors for Silambam Houston and volunteered on the advocacy committee of Texans for the Arts. Additionally, she has served on various grant panels for the National Endowment for the Arts, Mid-America Arts Alliance, the City of San Antonio, and the Hurricane Harvey Arts Relief Fund. In 2023, her leadership in Houston’s arts and cultural community was recognized by Houston Business Journal, naming her one of the 40 Under 40 and Houston Woman Magazine’s 50 Most Influential Women.
Amy Gibbs holds a Master of Science in Arts Administration from Drexel University, a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from Trinity University, and a Certificate in Non-profit Finance from Rice University.
