Helen Clancy

Helen develops and executes communications strategies to support the Foundation’s mission and programmatic goals. She collaborates with program and evaluation teams to bring greater awareness of HEI’s work in public education, civic engagement, and arts and culture across key audiences.

Storytelling for social change has been a throughline in Helen’s career, from working in journalism to subsequent communications roles in public education, local government, and philanthropy. Prior to joining the Houston Endowment, Helen worked for Harris County to build public awareness and support of key policy priorities, including civic engagement, green infrastructure, and poverty elimination initiatives.

Helen holds an undergraduate degree in English from Texas A&M University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Houston.
