
John M. Esquivel
John Esquivel retired from Shell Oil Company where he was chief ethics and compliance officer and associate general counsel. During his 32 years as an attorney for Shell, Esquivel served on the investment committee for the Shell Pension Plans, the senior leadership teams of Shell’s major business segments, and the company-wide strategic study team on diversity.
Esquivel serves on the boards of UnidosUS (formerly known as National Council of La Raza), Memorial Hermann Health System, YMCA of Greater Houston, Texas Methodist Foundation, and First United Methodist Church. He also serves as a regional advisory board member for IDEA Public Schools, a member of the executive board of the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University, and a board member of the General Council on Finance and Administration for the worldwide United Methodist Church.
Esquivel received his Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Mary’s University and a J.D. from the University of Michigan.
