Katie Niemann

Katie oversees Houston Endowment’s enterprise-wide IT strategies as well as the operations of the Foundation’s headquarters. Her leadership ensures team members have the needed solutions to seamlessly connect both digitally and in person – a crucial aspect of achieving the Foundation’s mission.

She was a key player during the construction of Houston Endowment’s headquarters, overseeing the building process as well as leading the charge to operationalize the space in 2022. Previously, Katie held positions in communications and digital marketing for other nonprofit organizations. As the senior director of technology at the Houston Zoo, she led a turnaround of the Zoo’s IT department, supporting their strategic plan and expansion. A natural collaborator, she makes the complex simple for the teams she supports.

Katie holds a Master of Humanities from the University of Dallas and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from the University of Texas. She achieved her CISSP, the world’s premier cybersecurity certification, in 2021 and also serves as a board member for the Technology Association of Grantmakers.
