New Dashboard Offers Insights, Resources for More Than 300,000 Houston-Area Immigrants Eligible to Naturalize

The Greater Houston Citizenship Dashboard makes it easier for service providers and community stakeholders to understand where needs are greatest in the region. In addition, the site locates immigration service providers, allowing legal permanent residents better access to citizenship resources.

The Earl Carl Institute for Legal and Social Policy Immigration Clinic at Texas Southern University Receives $1 Million(external source, opens in a new tab)

The Texas Southern University Foundation recently announced it was awarded more than $1 million to support the establishment and operations of The Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law’s Earl Carl Institute for Legal and Social Policy, Inc. (ECI) Immigration Clinic. The clinic will focus on the expansion of assistance for applying for U.S. citizenship and navigating the naturalization process.

Houston Leaders Propose Turning the City Into ‘Citizenship Capital’ With Naturalization Efforts(external source, opens in a new tab)

City and county officials joined leaders from local and national organizations to launch an initiative called Naturalize Now, Houston! The project aims to help at least 300,000 qualifying local residents become naturalized U.S. citizens over the next three years by diminishing the hurdles to naturalization.
